Dr Wagner, a Milwaukee Pediatric Dentist, and his staff provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventive and emergency dental services to patients from infancy to age 21. Your Child’s First Visit:
When your child comes to see the staff at Wagner Pediatric Dentistry, the doctor and assistants will take the time to get to know you and your family. Dr. Wagner will spend time with you and your child discussing diet, hygiene and ways to make brushing fun! At these visits we may also recommend a cleaning, fluoride treatment and digital xrays to evaluate the teeth even further. Dr. Wagner is happy to answer any questions you have about your child’s teeth.
How Often Should We Come?:
Routine check-ups should be scheduled at least twice a year to maintain healthy gum tissue, observe your child’s dental development, prevent dental infections, and diagnose tooth decay (cavities) as early as possible. We will also work with you to monitor your child’s oral hygiene to protect teeth from “sugar bugs” and to keep your child’s mouth healthy! If you child has other needs or is in braces, we may recommend more frequent visits.
Preventative Dentistry:
Dr. Wagner is a pediatric specialist, but he really likes to call himself a preventative dentist. We want to help your child so he or she never needs dental treatment. We accomplish this goal by having consistent hygiene checkups, performing fluoride treatments and placing pit and fissure sealants when necessary. Dr. Wagner will help you achieve these goals with your child by provide diet counseling and tips for better home care.
Infant Dental Care:
The Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends “that your child should see a pediatric dentist when a first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday.” Dr Wagner, a Milwaukee Pediatric Dentist, will answer all of your questions about your infant’s dental care.
Sealants:
Dental sealants are a safe and non-invasive way to help prevent cavities on the chewing surfaces of teeth. At every checkup appointment, Dr. Wagner will evaluate your child’s risk of getting cavities. While sealants are most often placed on permanent molars, Dr. Wagner may recommend sealing baby molars as well.
Digital X-rays:
Dr. Wagner is excited that with digital x-rays, the amount of radiation needed to take accurate and diagnostic x-rays is minimal compared to traditional film xrays. By placing a small sensor in your child’s mouth, we can instantly see your child’s xrays on the computer. Our digital sensors that are sized with the child’s mouth in mind. Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas):
For filling appointments, Dr. Wagner may recommend using Nitrous Oxide, also known as Laughing Gas, to make the visit even easier. Nitrous Oxide is extremely safe and is a wonderful option to help your child get through more challenging visits. Dr. Wagner is happy to anser any questions you have about how laughing gas might be a good option for you child’s treatment needs.

Dental emergencies can happen at any time. Please call our office for help. While some dental emergencies can wait, others need to be seen immediately.
