Meet Dr. Cameron "CJ" Wagner, DMD
Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. A pediatric dentist has two years specialty training following dental school and limits their practice to treating children. Pediatric dentists are primary and specialty oral care providers for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs. A Pediatric Dentist is a formally recognized specialty in dentistry that focuses on the oral health and unique needs of young people.
After finishing four years of dental school in Philadelphia, Dr. CJ completed a two-year pediatric dental residency at Northwestern/Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. For 2 years, Dr. CJ received extensive training in understanding child development, behavior management, trauma and treatment of infants, children, adolescents and special needs patients. While at Northwestern/Children’s Memorial, Dr. CJ served as chief resident.
Not all pediatric dentists are certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). The ABPD certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a pediatric dentist has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary 2-part examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills, and experience requisite to the delivery of quality patient care.
Dr. CJ has been a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist since 2010.
